Author’s Note: It would have been all too easy for the cast and crew to simply take off
across Europe and the steppe in a straight line. But travel is not like that, especially not in
1067. So extensive research was done using maps of established trade routes in order to
plan their journey from Kiev to Lou Lan and back. These are some of them.
